Housing Information for AIU Students

Starting college, you’ve got better and more important things to focus on than housing hassles. You shouldn’t have to cut studying short to deal with finding a decent place to live or, later in the term, with fixing a leaking sink or tracking down a roommate who’s late-again-with rent. AIU Houston has teamed with one of the area’s best collegiate housing specialists to offer students hassle-free, furnished, inspected, and convenient-to-campus housing in safe and well-kept apartment communities. (Most housing is within 1.5 miles of AIU Houston’s campus.)

You can choose from three housing options:

  • Shared apartment/shared room
  • Shared apartment/private room
  • Apartment locator

The first two options allow you the most freedom to pursue your studies and out-of-school activities. With these options, you can live independently in an off-campus apartment but enjoy the benefits and ease of dormitory-style living. You can also make new friend without worrying about furniture, utilities, or maintenance. In the shared apartment programs, the only portion of the rent you are responsible for is your own and leases are usually structured around AIU Houston’s class schedule.

Are you looking to manage utilities, rent, furniture, roommates, and the daily ins-and-outs of rental housing on your own? Then the locator option is for you. AIU Houston has a list of pre-screened, student-friendly apartment communities close to campus.

Whether you opt for a shared apartment or merely want to use our locator service, know it can make your AIU Houston experience more satisfying and simple.
